CHICAGO -- Even though the game is being broadcast live locally on WMLW and nationwide on ESPN.com, OnMilwaukee.com brings you a running blog of game two between the Brewers and Cubs at Wrigley Field.

Ben Sheets is on the mound for Milwaukee while the Cubs are starting Jason Marquis

Brewers first: Hey, the Brewers can hit! Cameron leads off with a single and moves to second on a stolen base. Ray Durham and Ryan Braun both walk, loading the bases for Prince Fielder, who rips Marquis'first offering down the right-field line for a bases-clearing triple. That extends his hitting streak to eight games. Hardy makes the first out, on a chopper to short. Corey Hart and Craig Counsell strike out to end the inning. 3 runs, 2 hit, 0 errors, 1 LOB. Brewers 3, Cubs 0.

Cubs first: Sheets makes short work of Chicago. Alfonso Soriano grounds out to third and Sheets strikes out Mike Fontenot and Derrick Lee to retire the side. 0 runs, 0 hits, 0 errors, 0 LOB. Brewers 3, Cubs 0.

Brewers second: Marquis gets both Jason Kendall and Sheets to ground out to short.  Cameron caps off an eight-pitch at-bat with a hard liner, right into Fontenot's glove. Three up, three down. 0 runs, 0 hits, 0 errors, 0 LOB. Brewers 3, Cubs 0.

Cubs second: Aramis Ramirez puts the Cubs on the board, smacking Sheets' first pitch into the left-center field bleachers for his 25th homer of the year. Jim Edmonds grounds out to second.  Mark DeRosa flies out to Braun in left.  Geovany Soto drives one deep to right but Hart, with his back up against the leaves, makes the grab. 1 runs, 1 hits, 0 errors, 0 LOB. Brewers 3, Cubs 1.

Brewers third: Durham hits a weak grounder down the first-base line that Marquis fields and is tagged out. Braun pops a little fly between first and second that a running Fontenot grabs at full-extension. Fielder walks on four straight.Hardy singles on a hot shot down the line that Fielder needs to dance to avoid. Hart bounces into a force at second. 0 runs, 1 hit, 0 errors, 2 LOB. Brewers 3, Cubs 1.

Sheets done: It looks like Ben Sheets is done. He just grabbed his glove and headed back into the Brewers' clubhouse. This doesn't bode well. Mark DiFelice is on to pitch. More when we find out.

Cubs third: DiFelice gets Theriot for his first strikeout. Marquis hits a grounder to Fielder, who throws to DiFelice for the second out. Soriano hits one deep to center, but Cameron hauls it in on the warning track. 0 runs, 0 hits, 0 errors, 0 LOB. Brewers 3, Cubs 1.

More on Sheets: The press box PA announcer just said that Sheets left the game with "right forearm tightness." Not a good sign for a team watching its playoff hopes slip away. Anyway, in his two innings, Sheets allowed a run on a hit -- Ramirez' homer -- and struck out two.

Brewers fourth: Counsell strikes out swinging. Kendall singles on a short fly to shallow right field and moves to second on DiFelice's sacrifice. That's as far as he gets as Cameron grounds out to second. 0 runs, 1 hit, 0 errors, 1 LOB. Brewers 3, Cubs 1.

Cubs fourth: Fontenot grounds out to Durham at second. DiFelice gets Lee to chase strike three.  Ramirez draws a walk and moves to third on Edmonds' single to right-center. DiFelice gets out of the inning unscathed when DeRosa grounds into a force at second . 0 runs, 1 hits, 0 errors, 2 LOB. Brewers 3, Cubs 1.

Brewers fifth: Durham and Braun go down on deep flies to right field. Fielder stays hot with his second double of the game -- this time bouncing one off the wall in center. He moves to third on Hardy's single to right.  Hart ends the frame with a fly to right. o runs, 2 hits, 0 errors, 2 LOB. Brewers 3, Cubs 1.

The ol' mailbag: Josh from Atlanta writes in with his opinion on Sheets -- much of which includes a number of not-suitable-for-publication anatomical references -- and wants to know how serious the injury is. Well, we haven't heard yet. But in the grand scheme of things, this isn't good for a team trying to salvage a playoff run. Sheets has been far from dominant in the second half, but if the team has any hope of making it to October -- or beyond -- they need a healthy Sheets.

Cubs fifth: Todd Coffey is in for the Brewers. He gives up a leadoff walk to Soto, who's out at second when Theriot reaches on the Fielder's Choice. Theriot advances on Marquis sacrifice. Soriano swings at strike three. 0 runs, 0 hits, 1 LOB. Brewers 3, Cubs 1.

Brewers sixth: Counsell grounds out, Lee to Marquis. Kendall draws a walk. With Brad Nelson batting for the pitcher, Kendall steals second and advances to third on a wild pitch. Nelson walks, putting runners at the corners with one out, and that'll be it for Marquis. Angel Guzman comes on to face Cameron, who strikes out swinging. After a lengthy at-bat, Durham pops up to Soto in foul territory. 0 runs, 0 hits, 0 errors, 0 LOB. Brewers 3, Cubs 1.

Cubs sixth: Carlos Villanueva is on to pitch for the Brewers -- the fourth pitcher used by Interim Manager Dale Sveum tonight. He strikes out Fontenot  looking and retires Lee on a fly ball to center grabbed by a running Cameron.  Soto singles and Sveum brings in Mitch Stetter from the bullpen. Edmonds grounds out to second. 0 runs, 1 hits, 0 errors, 1 LOB. Brewers 3, Cubs 1.

Brewers seventh: Braun walked and made it to third on Fielder's single -- his third hit of the night and sixth of the series. Hardy makes it 4-1, Milwaukee with a long double to right-center. Hart clears the bases with a single to left, his first hit 14 at-bats. With that, Guzman is done. Kevin Hart, a righty, is on for the Cubs. Hart moves to second on Counsell's walk. Kendall is out on a sacrifice; Hart moves to third and Counsell to second on the play. Mike Lamb bats for the pitcher and flies out to left; Hart is out at home after tagging up.  3 runs, 3 hits, 0 errors, 1 LOB. Brewers 6, Cubs 1.

Cubs seventh: DeRosa flies out to left with Eric Gagne in to pitch. Soto looks at strike three and Theriot grounds out to short. Not bad for Gagne, who needed a good outing. 0 runs, 0 hits, 0 errors, 0 LOB. Brewers 6, Cubs 1.

Brewers eighth:  Cameron leads of with a fly ball to center. Durham singles to left, on a ball deflected by Ramirez. Braun lines out to third and Fielder pops out to Ramierz in foul territory. 0 runs, 1 hit, 0 errors, 1 LOB. Brewers 6, Cubs 1.

Cubs eighth: Guillermo Mota replaces Gagne on the mound and retires pinch-hitter Micah Hoffpauir on a strikeout.  Soriano walks. Fontenot flies out to left. The inning ends with Ramirez grounding into a force at second. 0 runs, 0 hits, 0 errors, 1 LOB. Brewers 6, Cubs 1.

Brewers ninth: Hardy -- facing  reliever Randy Wells -- strikes out swinging. Hart grounds out to shortstop. Counsell hits a bouncer to second to end the inning. 0 runs, 0 hits, 0 errors, 0 LOB. Brewers 6, Cubs 1.

Cubs ninth: Salomon Torres is on to work the ninth. He gets Ramierz to ground out to short. Edmonds reaches on a single to cente and moves to third on Soto's base hit, which just gets past Durham at second. Soto reaches when Fielder can't hold on to the relay from Durham on what would have been a game-ending double play. That also allowed Edmonds to score and make it a 6-2 game.Theriot moves to second on indefensive indifference and pinch-hitter Daryle Ward grounds out to end the game. 1 run, 2 hits, 0 errors, 1 LOB.

Final score: Brewers 6, Cubs 2.

Give credit to the Brewers' bullpen, which was nearly flawless tonight in seven innings of work. The relievers allowed a run on four hits, three walks and six strikeouts.

We're sure to find out in Sveum's post-game meeting with the media the extent of Sheets' injury. While the Crew took a big step forward in getting back on track for the postseason, losing Sheets -- even for one start -- could prove to be a fatal blow to the team's fleeting playoff hopes.

Be sure to log on tomorrow morning for full coverage, and stick around for another in-game blog, live from the third and final game of the series in the afternoon.
