The 2000 Angels had their Rally Monkey. Looking through my Brewers photo gallery, I just remembered that Milwaukee has (or had) the Brewers Monkey.

Several years ago, I pounced on a rare find at a rummage sale. Someone was selling his scrapbook from the 1982 post-season, complete with newspaper clipping chronicling the Brewers run to the World Series.

Most of it was pretty cool, but my heart skipped a beat when I saw the Brewers Monkey. Apparently, the Milwaukee County Zoo dressed a baby chimp up in a T-shirt and hat, holding a pennant that said, "GO BREWERS GO."

This is easily the most awesome picture in the history of photography.

I wish I still had the original clipping, but it's probably buried in my basement somewhere. I'd love to know more about that little monkey ... maybe it's still alive and rooting for the 2008 Brewers.

Either way, enjoy this wonderful image as you cheer on the Crew. Monkeys are always funny ... but Brewers Monkeys are cool beyond words.
