The Cubs puked away a ninth-inning lead this afternoon against Los Angeles, so the Brewers have moved into a tie for first place in the National League Central.

If that's not enough to give you pennant fever, here are two more signs: playoff tickets and a tie-breaking coin flip.

The Brewers announced three options for fans interested in purchasing the limited supply of postseason tickets for games at Miller Park. Friday is the deadline for season ticketholders to purchase tickets. They'll go on sale to the general public after that.

Here are the three options as laid out by the team:

OPTION 1
Purchase Full Season or 40 Game Season Ticket Plan for 2008, Receive Full Postseason Ticket Purchase Option

Fans placing a deposit on new 40-Game and Full Season Ticket Plans for 2008 will have the opportunity to purchase an equal number of tickets for all 2007 Postseason games -- from N.L. Division Series through the World Series -- played at Miller Park. Deposits range from $250 per seat (40 games in Terrace Reserved) to $1,500 per seat (81 games in Field Infield Box).

Beginning Monday, fans interested in this option may call (414) 902-HITS or place their deposit online at brewers.com.

OPTION 2
Purchase 9-Pack Plan for 2008, Receive Option to Purchase First Game of NLDS

Fans purchasing in full a new 9-Pack Plan for 2008 will have the opportunity to purchase an equal number of tickets for the first N.L. Division Series Game played at Miller Park. 9-Pack Plan prices for 2008 range from $126 per seat (Terrace Reserved) to $234 per seat (Loge Outfield).

Beginning Monday, fans interested in this option may call (414) 902-HITS or place their deposit online at brewers.com.

NOTE: Existing 2007 9-Pack Seat holders will receive a letter early next week outlining their rights to purchase tickets to one game of the N.L. Division Series and one game of the N.L. Championship Series.

OPTION 3
Registration for Lottery to Purchase Individual Tickets to Postseason Games

The Brewers invite fans interested in the opportunity to purchase tickets to a single game for the NLDS to register for a lottery to be conducted at brewers.com. With inventory expected to be very limited, it is likely that only a limited number of fans will be selected to purchase tickets through this lottery. Details follow:

a. Registration for the Postseason ticket opportunities will begin at 12:00 p.m. CT tomorrow (Friday) and will close at 12:00 p.m. CT, Monday, September 17, 2007.

b. The Brewers will conduct a random selection of winners from the pool of registrants for each of the three Postseason series. The N.L. Division Series winners will be selected on or around September 20 and will have the opportunity to purchase up to four (4) tickets to one (1) game of the 2007 the N.L. Division Series.

Winners for N.L. Championship Series and World Series drawings will be selected from the same of pool registrants at later dates. Registrants (including winners of previous drawings) will be eligible for each drawing.

There is no charge to register for this opportunity, and additional rules and information is available at brewers.com.

As for the coin flip...

It will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday to determine home-field advantage for a potential one-game playoff in the event of a Central Division tie. The Brewers will have the option of calling "heads or tails) in the coin toss against St. Louis.

Assistant general manager Gord Ash will make the official call for Milwaukee via a conference call with league and team officials. And while it will be Ash making the call, the people's choice will rule.

Beginning this afternoon and continuing through noon Friday, the Brewers are asking fans to go to brewers.com to cast their preference for a call of heads or tails. The majority will rule, and the selection receiving the most fan votes will be relayed by Ash to league officials.

The idea for the fan vote originated with Brewers general manager Doug Melvin.

"Through their support, the fans have helped us build the league's top home record and created what we believe is baseball's biggest home field advantage," said Melvin. "This is the fans' opportunity to get involved in the strategy of making the right call and keeping the Brewers at home."
