Brewtown Eatery, 5121 W. Howard Ave., will host a grand opening on Wednesday, Feb. 19.

The restaurant, which opened in late January, has already developed a loyal fan base on the South Side of Milwaukee, according to owner Martin Gulczynski who says that customer favorites include the Friday fish fry and house-made chili.

When Scott Kwapick and Martin Gulzcynski decided to open the Brewtown Eatery, they envisioned a family run pizza joint. But, as the idea developed, it became a full-service family style restaurant.

They hired Chef Joe Piscitello to create an Italian inspired comfort food menu featuring pastas and pizzas including the classic Margarita, barbeque chicken and spinach artichoke pesto. Other offerings include a fish fry, broasted chicken, and a variety of soup and sandwich specials.

The bar program, headed up by Gregory Sukowaty, will include specialty drinks made with house-infused liquors and a broad collection of Wisconsin craft beers on tap.

Specials include happy hour from Monday through Friday from 3-6pm, as well as daily food specials such as $1 sliders on Mondays, $1 meatballs on Tuesdays, $0.50 shrimp on Wednesdays, $0.50 wings every Thursday. Saturdays feature half-price wine with the purchase of an entrée.

According to partner and general manager Scott Kwapick, the restaurant is committed to the community and the surrounding neighborhood and hopes to host a number of neighborhood-wide events this summer.

"This is a family owned and operated business where customers come first," he says.

Brewtown Eatery hours are Monday through Wednesday 11 a.m.-10 p.m., Thursdays 11 a.m.-11 p.m., Friday and Saturdays 11 a.m. to midnight and Sundays 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
