There's a phrase that says, "What goes around, comes around," and right now it seems like the perfect way to describe the current Bright Eyes tour.
Connor Oberst and crew kicked off their "Cassadaga" tour at The Pabst Theater on April 22 -- just a week or two after Saddle Creek released "Cassadaga" on April 10 -- and have now made the announcement that they're on their way back for round two in Milwaukee.
If you missed your chance at the sold out April show, Bright Eyes plays the Riverside Theater on Monday, Oct. 22 at 8 p.m.
Oberst has always been known for his album guest appearances, and "Cassadaga" features the added voices of M. Ward, Gillian Welch and Janet Weiss of Sleater Kinney. Bright Eyes' line up now features two constants in addition to Oberst -- multi-instrumentalists Mike Mogis and NateWalcott.
Tickets are $27.50 (general admission) and go on sale Friday, Sept. 14 at noon at the Riverside Theater box office, on the Web at www.riversidetheater.org and www.tickets.com, or by calling (414) 286-3663 or (800) 511-1552.
OnMilwaukee.com staff writer Julie Lawrence grew up in Wauwatosa and has lived her whole life in the Milwaukee area.
As any “word nerd” can attest, you never know when inspiration will strike, so from a very early age Julie has rarely been seen sans pen and little notebook. At the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee it seemed only natural that she major in journalism. When OnMilwaukee.com offered her an avenue to combine her writing and the city she knows and loves in late 2004, she knew it was meant to be. Around the office, she answers to a plethora of nicknames, including “Lar,” (short for “Larry,” which is short for “Lawrence”) as well as the mysteriously-sourced “Bill Murray.”
