It’s been nearly four years since guests had the opportunity to enjoy a leisurely brunch, complete with bluff side views, at Lake Park Bistro, 3133 E. Newberry Blvd.

But the longtime French bistro has reintroduced this treasured weekend tradition under the oversight of Executive Chef Amanda Langler, who took the helm at Lake Park last fall. In fact, the French-inspired three-course brunch menu is now available every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

On the menu

Brunch is customizable, allowing guests to choose each of three courses (appetizer, main dish and dessert) with pricing based on their choice of entree.

Starters include favorites like Lake Park Bistro’s signature Soupe à l’Ognion (baked French onion soup); jumbo shrimp cocktail with Marie Rose cocktail sauce; or Chèvre Chaud featuring warm goat cheese with apricot and walnut preserves, salad and toasted baguette.

Main course selections include Salade Lyonnaise, showcasing crispy pork belly tossed with frisée and radicchio with a poached egg ($48); a traditional French-style omelette ($52); eggs benedict with poached eggs, Berkshire ham, toasted English muffin and hollandaise sauce served with dauphinoise potatoes ($56); Pain Perdu, Brioche French toast with pear butter ($45); and Bouef et Oeufs, a grilled bavette steak with eggs ($65).

For their third course, guests can choose from selections like Coffee Pots de Crème; a creative take on Crêpe Suzette featuring white chocolate-filled crêpes with Grand Marnier sauce; or a classic French-inspired cheese plate with fresh fruit, preserves, honey and toasted bread.

Guests can also choose from classic brunch cocktails (think mimosas or bloody marys) or a selection of brunch-worthy drinks like the Empress French 75 (Empress 1908 butterfly pea blossom gin, lemon, champagne); St. Germain Champagne Cocktail (St. Germain Elderflower liqueur, sparkling); Un Autre Expresso Martini (Moulin Vodka, Averna Amaro, Pedro Ximenez Sherry, Mr Black Coffee liqueur).  Guests can also choose from over 100 Champagnes or sparkling wine options as well as varied wines available by the glass.

Guests can view the full menu online. A three-course children’s brunch menu is also available for guests age 12 and under.

Brunch is available on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Reservations can be made online or by phone at (414) 962-6300.
