Bucky's Super Video, 1601 E. Oklahoma Ave., has closed, and is now selling its remaining inventory during limited hours.
It's a disappointing, but not all together surprising end, for the Bay View video store and tanning salon.
On its Facebook page, its owners wrote:
To all of you that have supported Bucky's Super Video for the last 25 years
It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that we will no longer be open to rent movies as of 11/15/2010. On the 16th of November, we will begin selling our inventory. Everything is for sale.
It's been an honor and pleasure being part of the neighborhood for 25 years.

I always liked Bucky's (and its candy selection), and supported the local guys whenever possible. It didn't have a ton of inventory, but was less expensive than Blockbuster -- which isn't in such great shape, itself.
Eventually, though, I stopped using Bucky's, because after numerous scratched DVDs and employees who weren't terribly accommodating, I resigned myself to watching movies digitally. I suspect I wasn't the only one who went this route, but there's something sad about seeing another mom-and-pop brick and mortar store going the way of VHS.
According to its Facebook page, Bucky's will sell its inventory from noon until 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
