Buyseasons, Inc. is getting ready for its biggest month of the year with a world record attempt tomorrow.

The New Berlin-based online retailer of costumes, party supplies and décor, plans to break the Guinness World Record for most people dressed in costumes of video game characters.

The company will host its record-breaking attempt at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at its headquarters, 5915 S. Moorland Rd.

A representative from the Guinness Book of World Records, Danny Girton Jr., will be present to validate the entry.

The current record for the largest gathering of people dressed as video game characters featured 376 participants and took place at MCM Expo in London in May 2009.

Video game characters expected at the gathering will include Angry Birds, God of War, Mortal Kombat, Pac Man, Street Fighter, Spy vs. Spy, Super Mario Bros. and Tomb Raider. These Halloween costumes are, of course, all available from BuyCostumes.com.

"We’re very excited for this epic event at our facility during the Halloween season," said Daniel Haight, president and CEO. "It is an honor to showcase our video game costumes and make an attempt at breaking a world record."

BuyCostumes says the big sellers so far this Halloween season, are Angry Birds, Harry Potter, pirates, vampires, werewolves and zombies.
