This may be the only football-related blog post I write for a long time, but I got an e-mail from legendary local trio Couch Flambeau this morning that I thought might be relevant at the moment.
In it, the band urges fans to check out it's "hit single," "The Pack is Back," which you can hear at the Couch Flambeau MySpace page.
According to the e-mail, frontman -- and drummer, guitarist and lyricist extraordinaire -- Jay Tiller found out about the passing of the Packers' QB torch a few years back when he overheard a conversation at a gas station. That led him to pen the Green and Gold tribute. Or so the legend has it.
Tiller and company are not about to let this exciting Packers moment pass without bringing a little rock and roll into the discussion...
"We are resolved to stay in front of the hype. That's why we are reintroducing 'The Pack is Back' in time for Sunday's NFC Championship game. So Sunday, flip on the TV, but turn down the sound and crank up 'The Pack is Back' in repeat mode."
If you prefer the fiery onstage version of Couch Flambeau, there's a video of the band playing "The Pack is Back" here.
