It looks as if a new Asian concept is coming to 222 E. Erie St. That's the former home of Hinterland Erie Street Gastropub, which occupied the space for seven years before closing in August.

According to Jongsoo Kim, registered agent for the restaurant, details of the concept are still being developed. However, the name of the restaurant will be Char’d, and Kim says the restaurant will specialize in Korean fusion fare.

He says the restaurant is expected to open sometime in early 2018.

According to paperwork filed with the City of Milwaukee, Char’d plans to be open for both lunch and dinner.

Owners of Char’d are husband and wife team Lane Kim and Choonghoon Lee of goRi Food Entertainment, Inc.
