National Cheese Curd Day is coming up on Oct. 15, and – as usual – Lakefront Brewery, 1872 N. Commerce St., is bringing their A game.
In fact, they’re giving Milwaukeeans the opportunity to celebrate the cheesiest day of the year a couple of days early.
Lakefront will be pulling out all the stops for a pre-Cheese Curd Day celebration on Thursday, Oct. 13 beginning at 11 a.m.
For one day only, they’ll be rolling out a very special Cheese Curd Day menu, which will be available until close (or while supplies last). Their regular food menu will become available beginning at 3 p.m.
Wondering what cheesy delights they have in store? You’re in luck. We’ve got the menu right here.
First, they’ll be rolling out three special cheese curd flavors. And if you order up all three, you’ll even get a discount.
- The Original: Their famous beer-battered and fried cheese curds with garlic ranch dipping sauce.
- Dill Pickle Curds: Attention all pickle fans! Pickle brine infused beer batter, flour, pickling spices and herb breaded, then deep fried and tossed in pickle seasoning. So much flavor, no sauce is needed.
- Beer & Pretzel Curds: Move over Star Wars, there’s a new trilogy in town! Presenting beer, cheese curds, and pretzels. Beer-battered, pretzel, flour and malt tossed, then deep fried. Served with a drizzle of beer reduction sauce and beer-infused ranch.
And yes, there’s also a very special French Onion Poutine. This tasty treat comes with seasoned french fries topped with fresh cheese curds and smothered with rich french onion gravy and diced chives. It's naturally vegetarian, but a vegan option is also available.
Go bigger or go home
But that's not all. Lakefront will also be bringing back their State Fair famous footlong cheese curd.
This monster is the ultimate cheese lovers' conquest. It features a literal foot of beer-battered, deep-fried cheese curd all neatly displayed on a stick. It's even served up with a double order of garlic ranch because you’ll need it!
Be sure to take a glamour shot and use #footlongcheesecurd to post on social media.
The Curd Day menu will be available for online ordering, dine-in and takeout. Lakefront’s very own CurdWagon will be out serving the curd specials for quick pick-up and go.
