With the number of excellent, local Mexican bars and restaurants we could argue that everyday is Cinco de Mayo in Milwaukee, but it’s even more fun to recognize a holiday that demands we eat tacos and drink margaritas midweek.

Any Mexican restaurant will welcome your business this Thursday and here's a list of some possibilities. So eat, drink and celebrate responsibly and respectfully.

Newsroom Pub, the bar connected to the SafeHouse, will debut a new menu item aptly called Cinco de Mayo. The $10 margarita flight will feature mango, strawberry, pineapple and classic lime margaritas. $4 taco specials and $5 Palomas are also in the mix.

Cinco de Mayo Family Festival

The party starts at 11 a.m. and includes live, traditional music, dancing, car show, chili pepper eating contest, Chihuahua beauty pageant, taco trucks and more. Go here for more details.
