A reliable source told us that C.P.'s 5 O'Clock Steakhouse, 2416 W. State St., was on fire earlier this afternoon.
A short time later a Milwaukee Fire Dept. source said that the fire was quickly extinguished and a visit to the site showed no apparent damage to the building's exterior.
The 5 O'Clock Steakhouse is closed on Mondays and there were no employees at the site and restaurant's phone was not being answered.
A Milwaukee Fire Dept. investigation vehicle and a Milwaukee Police Dept. squad car remained on the scene this afternoon but officers would not answer questions about the blaze.
The restaurant was previously known as Coerper's 5 O'Clock Club.
