County officials have chosen a tree from the Cudahy War Memorial as this year's official Milwaukee County Courthouse Christmas tree.

"We are honored that the Cudahy War Memorial has offered this tree and we hope it will become a reminder this holiday season of the sacrifice all veterans make for this county," said Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele.

The tree will be cut down from its place in Sheridan Park on South Lake Drive and East Layton Avenue Monday, Nov. 19 and moved to the Milwaukee County Courthouse at 8:45 a.m.

The tree lighting will take place on Thursday, Nov. 29.
