For the second consecutive year, Cousins Subs invites the local community to help raise $50,000 for the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation (VLCF) through its month-long fundraiser, Combos For A Cure.

From Sept. 1 – 30, all Wisconsin-based Cousins Subs restaurants will donate a portion of every combo meal sold to VLCF for local research and cancer care throughout the state. Cousins Make It Better Foundation, a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to funding local organizations that address health and wellness, hunger and youth education, will also contribute to the cause.

"In 2016, nearly 11,600 people in communities across Wisconsin will lose their fight with cancer, and with the help of the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation, we can have a positive impact on that number," said Justin McCoy, Vice President of Marketing at Cousins Subs. "We ask that the community joins us again this September in Combos For A Cure so together we can create more cancer-free tomorrows."

Cousins chose VLCF as the beneficiary of the Combos For A Cure fundraiser because donations to the organization directly enhance Aurora Cancer Care programs and support locally led, patient-centered cancer research and care throughout Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin-based organizations first teamed up to tackle cancer in September 2015 with the launch of Combos For A Cure. Through the tremendous support of the local community, Cousins met its $50,000 goal, which funded local research, care and advanced technology for better outcomes in cancer.

In 2016, approximately 33,000 people in Wisconsin will be diagnosed with cancer. One out of four of them will choose Aurora Cancer Care. VLCF has a more than 30-year relationship with Aurora Cancer Care with a shared commitment to providing exceptional local cancer care.
