Through its annual Combos For A Cure fundraiser, Cousins Subs raises $50,000 for Wisconsin-based nonprofit, the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation (VLCF).

In September, Cousins invited the local community to tackle cancer alongside its Wisconsin restaurants as a portion of every combo meal sold benefited local cancer care and research. Cousins’ Make It Better Foundation – a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to funding local organizations that address health and wellness, hunger and youth education – also contributed to the cause helping to reach the $50,000 fundraising goal.

"Cousins Subs has a longstanding history of giving back to the communities we call home," said Justin McCoy, vice president of marketing at Cousins Subs. "As a result of our mission to Believe in Better, Cousins partnered with VLCF for a second consecutive year due to the organization’s proven success in providing much needed aid to those battling cancer. Thank you to all who helped in our mission to create more cancer-free tomorrows."

Donations to VLCF directly enhance Aurora Cancer Care programs and support locally-led, patient-centered cancer research, care and advanced technology for better outcomes in cancer throughout Wisconsin.

"Cousins Subs is a critical teammate in the trenches," said Erin Hareng, executive director of the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation. "With Cousins Subs, we know we can win the fight against cancer."

The Wisconsin-based organizations first teamed up to tackle cancer in September 2015 with the launch of Combos For A Cure. Through the tremendous support of the local community, Cousins met its first-year goal of $50,000, leading to a total contribution of $100,000 to the fight against cancer over the last two years.

In 2016, approximately 33,000 people in Wisconsin will be newly diagnosed with cancer. One out of four of them will choose Aurora Cancer Care. VLCF has a more than 30-year relationship with Aurora Cancer Care with a shared commitment to providing exceptional local cancer care.
