The 2020 State Fair was sadly canceled this year due to COVID-19, but it looks and feels like a little slice of it popped up on 1st Street in Walker's Point.

Crazy Nachos, which is in the parking lot of Fiesta Cafe, 1407 S. 1st St., is a larger-than-life, carnivalesque nacho stand offering giant orders of nachos for $13. (Cash only; ATM inside the bar.)

There's also a Michelada stand selling the refreshing clamata-and-beer beverages and a taco truck.

With plenty of outdoor seating the environment has a festival vibe that will operate all summer. Live music and a La Michoacana ice cream truck are also in the plans for the near future.

But the nachos are definitely in the proverbial center ring and come topped with carne asada, chicken terriyaki, pulled pork or "ballpark style." The portions and toppings are ample and there's definitely enough for two or three people to share. Or, let's be honest, just one ravenous diner.

All of the businesses are owned by Valdamar Escobar, who is also the proprietor of Fat Valdy’s Bar & Grill, De Fiesta Garibaldi, Fiesta Garibaldi, a La Michoacana shop and the Chicken Palace, according to an article on Urban Milwaukee

Ongoing information is available on Fiesta Chicken's Facebook page.
