Birthdays, anniversaries and promotions are wonderful milestones to celebrate, but there are a zillion other potential reasons to party in one's life – and we endorse all of them.

Thus, this month's episode of "Dandelions: A Podcast For Women" focuses on nontraditional celebrations. Julie and I chat with two stellar women, Ellie and Lisa, whose friends and family hosted fiestas for them to support their choices.

Ellie and her husband decided they did not want to have children and so a "no-baby shower" / "sterilization celebration" came to be, and for Lisa – a woman who wanted a child but was not willing to settle for a mediocre partner to get one – a "sperm donor party" took place last year. (She is currently 33 weeks pregnant.)

Listen in for all the gory and glorious details!

No matter how you choose to live your life we hope you stop and proverbially throw the confetti to acknowledge the beauty and fierceness of your achievements with friends, family, cake and whatever else makes you truly happy. Mazel tov to all the things life brings!

"Dandelions: A Podcast for Women," hosted by Molly Snyder and Julie Davidson, drops on the last Friday of every month and is available on iTunesGoogle PlaySpotify, Stitcher and TuneIn/Alexa. We'd love it if you subscribed, and maybe even write a review on iTunes.
