Self-proclaimed "fitness evangelist" Danny Russo conducts a series of women's health seminars in the Milwaukee area this week.

Titled "FEW" (an acronym for food, exercise and water,) the seminars are designed to help women learn to work out efficiently while also having fun.

"I developed this program because women face different challenges when exercising than men," Russo says.

The FEW seminars are held twice a day at three Elite Fitness and Racquet Clubs in the area over the next two days. Russo comes to the North Shore Elite club in Glendale Thursday, Nov. 9 at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., the Bluemound Elite club in Brookfield at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10. The series wraps up at the Mequon Elite club in Mequon at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11.

Russo has gained a following for his ability to relate to the specific issues women face in exercise and his charisma.

"I've been in the fitness industry for a long time and Danny is as motivating, entertaining and informative of a speaker as I ever witnessed," says Elite owner Kay Yuspeh.

Tyler Casey was born and raised in the Twin Cities, but he’s lived in Milwaukee for the last four years working and going to school. A senior at UWM with one semester left before he gets his print journalism degree, Tyler’s grown incredibly fond of his new city and hopes to stay here for good. He’s been with OnMilwaukee.com since June 2006.

Despite retaining certain customs of his fatherland (Tyler bleeds purple and gold), he considers Milwaukee his home. Spending most of his time on the East Side, Riverwest and Downtown (as well as wherever the nearest bus line can take him), Tyler’s always looking to experience what the city has to offer.
