Just in time to begin preparations for Thanksgiving, you can give thanks and help fight hunger in Milwaukee on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at The Iron Horse Hotel.

On that day, DearMKE, Visit Milwaukee and OnMilwaukee.com present a night to give thanks by donating to Hunger Task Force and viewing the newest film in the DearMKE series.

Presentation of the film is at 6:30 p.m. Hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar will be available and a complimentary signature Iron Horse cocktail will be available to all who donate to Hunger Task Force (non-perishable food & cash accepted).  In addition, 2o percent of the evening's proceeds from Smyth will be donated to Hunger Task Force.

Also all November, Dear MKE will highlight submissions from area residents (photos, videos and text stories) that showcase giving back to the community and being thankful for the quality of life we all enjoy in Milwaukee.  The contest is a way to bring awareness to Milwaukee charities and share stories about what our community is most grateful for.

Submissions will be entered into a contest for a $100 cash prize to be awarded at an event at The Iron Horse Hotel on Wednesday, Nov. 20. The event will also be the official launch of the DearMKE film "High Art."

Photos, videos and text entries can be submitted to the contest from Nov. 1 to Nov. 19 at noon by uploading to DearMKE.com or using the #dearMKEthanks hashtag on Instagram or Twitter. The top two entries will be chosen by VISIT Milwaukee and posted on the DearMKE Facebook page on Nov. 19 for a vote. The entry that receives the most likes will be awarded with a $100 cash prize at the Food Drive and Film Premiere event.
