The proverbial iron gate creaked open and Halloween Village at Baird Community Commons at the Baird Center, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave., is wide open for ghosts guests of all ages.
Halloween Village is illuminated during daytime and nighttime hours. The experience is free and all are welcome to attend
The outdoor attraction, which runs through Thursday, Oct. 31, features a seasonal scene for photo ops. Visitors can pose for pictures with a ghost, scarecrow, Frankenstein and witches, as well as walk through a giant 12-foot pumpkin.
On Saturday, Oct. 26, the 3rd annual Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee will haunt the space from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The first 400 guests to attend will pick a free pumpkin, courtesy of Pick ‘n Save and Metro Market. Trick-or-treat goodie bags will also be available while supplies last.
During the Jubilee, kids ages 2-8 years old and their caregivers can decorate pumpkins with Artists Working in Education and enjoy face-painting, balloon art, photo opportunities with beloved characters, live entertainment and story times. A fire engine exploration with the Milwaukee Fire Department and a children’s book sale with Friends of Milwaukee Public Library will also be on site. Treats will be available for purchase.
New this year, Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21 partnered with Baird and the Wisconsin Center District to present this display.
