The Great Milwaukee Summer is HERE! Your guide to what you'll be doing, where you'll be drinking, who you'll be hearing and how you'll be getting a sweet tan this summer is on OnMilwaukee. The Great Milwaukee Summer guide is brought to you by Educators Credit Union and Harley-Davidson Museum

You'll have plenty of reasons to roll Downtown this summer as Milwaukee Downtown announced a new monthly roller-skating series wheeling its way into Red Arrow Park, as well as the return of its Tunes@Noon and Heart(beats) of the City free live summer music series.

"Summer in the city will be bustling as Downtown Milwaukee prepares to host a multitude of festivals, concerts and events," said Beth Weirick, CEO of Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21, in a release. "With new offerings each week, our hope is that families, friends, Downtown employees and neighbors make Downtown their go-to meeting place this summer."

New to the area this summer is Summer Spinz, turning Red Arrow Park into a family-friendly roller rink every third Friday of the month throughout the season. Hosted from 5-9 p.m. on June 16, July 21 and Aug. 18, Summer Spinz will feature free lessons from 5-6 p.m., a family-focused hour from 6-7 p.m. and then DJ sets getting the crowd moving for the rest of the night's free-wheeling festivities. Food trucks will also surround the park to help refuel from all the roller action.

The new Red Arrow Park roller rink events come after growing support for the concept in recent years

In addition to the monthly roller rink, Milwaukee Downtown will bring back its two free summer music series: Tunes@Noon and Heart(beats) of the City. Tunes@Noon will take the mic in the courtyard of 411 East Wisconsin Center every Thursday from noon until 1 p.m. throughout June, July and August, while Heart(beats) of the City will perform every Wednesday in Red Arrow Park from noon until 1 p.m.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
