As a longtime shopper and browser at Downtown Books, 624 N. Broadway, I am thrilled that another location opened at 1134 S. 1st St. in Walker's Point.

The space and stock are similar in size and although they are still working on the new space, it's off to a good start. For now, the shop is open from noon to 5 p.m., but these hours might change.

Owner Keith Pajot opened his first shop in 1991 at 142 W. Wisconsin Ave. (where's Mo's is now) and moved on to two other Downtown spaces before moving to the Broadway location. It's estimated Downtown Books has 1 million items collectively, including books, records and comic books.

Molly Snyder started writing and publishing her work at the age 10, when her community newspaper printed her poem, "The Unicorn.” Since then, she's expanded beyond the subject of mythical creatures and written in many different mediums but, nearest and dearest to her heart, thousands of articles for OnMilwaukee.

Molly is a regular contributor to FOX6 News and numerous radio stations as well as the co-host of "Dandelions: A Podcast For Women.” She's received five Milwaukee Press Club Awards, served as the Pfister Narrator and is the Wisconsin State Fair’s Celebrity Cream Puff Eating Champion of 2019.
