Wisconsin can claim a lot of great accomplishments when it comes to our beer. Now, we can claim a world-class bartender with the bragging rights to one of Belgium's top suds.

Madison bartender Chris Myers beat out contestants from 24 other countries -- including Belgium -- to take home the title of Stella Artois World Draught Master, making him only the second U.S. bartender to do so in the pouring competition's 14-year history.

The competition required bartenders to perfectly execute the Stella Artois nine-step pouring ritual at this year's worldwide show in London.

Before making it to the finals, Myers had to qualify in Madison, then moved on to semi-finals in New York and Boston.

With his victory, Myers has also won the opportunity to travel to more than 10 different countries around the world as Stella Artois' official pouring ambassador.

Contrary to her natural state of being, Renee Lorenz is a total optimist when it comes to Milwaukee. Since beginning her career with OnMilwaukee.com, her occasional forays into the awesomeness that is the Brew City have turned into an overwhelming desire to discover anything and everything that's new, fun or just ... "different."

Expect her random musings to cover both the new and "new-to-her" aspects of Miltown goings-on, in addition to periodically straying completely off-topic, which usually manifests itself in the form of an obscure movie reference.
