Dryhootch of America, Inc. has announced the re-dedication and expansion of its second Milwaukee location, directly across from the Zablocki Medical Center in Milwaukee, on Thusrday, June 12 at 4:30 p.m.
This location was the first Dryhootch Forward Operating Base (FOB) model that focuses on issues of war, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), addiction, family readjustment; as well as the legal and social challenges veterans are facing today.
The Dryhootch expansion will focus on a coalition of community partners moving to address the many challenges that returning veterans are facing in returning to our community.
An open house will be held from 2 to 8 p.m.
The ceremony on Thursday will include remarks by Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele, Deputy District Director for Congresswoman Gwen Moore, deputy district director Dan Hereth and Dryhootch founder and President Bob Curry.
Veterans who struggled after returning from combat will speak to the success of Dryhootch programs in their lives. The evening will include music by veterans.
Dryhootch operates another Milwaukee location at 1030 E. Brady St.
