Popular shows on cable networks are usually popular because they have notable characters.

In its first three seasons, "Duck Dynasty" has brought one bearded family to the spotlight with a hit reality show on A&E.

Now, one can certainly argue of what makes a true reality show these days, and I’m almost more willing to call this an unscripted show, as the situations are clearly contrived. However, the show’s starpower is undisputed.

Earlier this week, the Riverside Theater announced a special appearance by members of the show on Nov. 14 as part of an author tour.

"The Robertsons have built a multi-million dollar sporting empire manufacturing duck calls in Monroe, La., and have earned a seat in homes across the country with their special brand of down-home practicality, southern charm and sharp sense of humor," the release said.

Mills Fleet Farm is presenting "Tales from the Duck Commanders," featuring Phil, Kay, Korie and Uncle Si from the show.

"Each ticket includes a Duck Commander Gift Pack Featuring autographed copies of 'Si-Cology' by Si Robertson and 'Miss Kay's Duck Commander Kitchen' by Kay Robertson," according to the show promoters. "Also available for purchase exclusively for ticket buyers will be autographed copies of 'Happy Happy Happy' by Phil Robertson and 'The Duck Commander Family' by Willie and Korie Robertson."

"Duck Dynasty" is starting its fourth season showcasing the family living in the bayou and the craziness that takes place and the company’s warehouse.

"Every day affairs are met by Willie's growing business ideas, Phil's fatherly advice, Mrs. Kay's delicious recipes, Uncle Si's oddball philosophies and Jase's endless need to hunt, fish, and rib his brothers," the promotional release read.

"They are the family that works together, plays together and of course, eats together. The whole family joins in for more adventures on the bayou, where day to day life may be mundane for some, but for the Robertsons, is anything but dull."

Recently, show star Willie Robertson appeared on "The Five" on the Fox News Channel. He said the report that he was going to run for Congress was news to him.

"Yeah, I heard today that I was doing that. It was very interesting, yeah, news to me.  I’m kind of busy right now. I got a lot going on," he said.

He did go on to say that the people in his hometown are happy about his show’s success.

"They’re excited. We bring a lot of people in," Robertson told Fox News. " Visitors come in from all over the world. Thousands flock in. I didn’t know they were going to do that when we started. I wasn’t prepared for fans coming up to the office and they’re in our lobby and they went from the lobby, I built a store, and now they’ve overrun the store so the store’s expanding and they wait in the parking lot and we drive through. The hardest part is getting in the building."
