For the sixth straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com, presented by Concordia University. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2012."

The East Side's Classic Slice, 1609 E. North Ave., is officially closed.

The popular pizza stop posted this farewell earlier today via its Facebook page:

"Hey, all Classic Slice North Ave is officially CLOSED FOREVER! We couldn't officially say it until today so I apologize if you tried to reach us yesterday or today. Thank you to all our friends, family and customers!"

The North Avenue Classic Slice opened in January 2011. Its original location, 2797 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. in Bay View, remains open.
