{INSERT_RELATED} The Empty Bowls program is once again helping put food on the tables of hungry Milwaukeeans. The event, Sat. Oct. 12, runs from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Milwaukee Area Technical College Student Center (700 W. State St).

The fourth annual program benefits area food pantries and meal programs. For $12, participants get a handcrafted bowl filled with soup, tasty bread and a dose of live music. Last year, the event raised more than $28,000. Proceeds this year benefit the Milwaukee Christian Center, The Gathering and Bread and Jam.
