The Arena Football League announced that Milwaukee Mustangs wide receiver/linebacker Marcus Everett has been selected as the National Guard MVP of the Week for Week 8.

The Mustangs' two-way player ran away with the fan poll garnering 80 percent of the fan votes, topping Tampa Bay Storm receiver Chandler Williams and Cleveland Gladiators receiver Dominick Goodman for the honor.

Against Utah, Everett played the entire game at the "Jack" linebacker spot. Despite that, Everett also excelled at the wide receiver position on the Mustangs' offense.

The UCLA product hauled in five catches for 67 yards. Everett led Milwaukee with four touchdown catches.

In six games at the wide receiver slot, Everett has caught 11 passes for 147 yards and five scores. He's also rushed for a touchdown.

Everett leads the defense with three interceptions, two of which have been returned for touchdowns.
