Who d’ya know wants to buy a fire truck?

Well, we know someone who’s selling.

The Johnson Creek Fire Department is auctioning a 1989 Pierce Arrow 95-foot Aerial Platform fire truck right now. The funds raised helping the department fund new fire suits, hoses and other equipment required to fight fires and save lives in this town just about halfway between Milwaukee and Madison.

This government auction is up now and open to the public at municibid.com. Bidding ends on Friday, Sept. 27.

The starting bid is $7,000 and there’s no reserve. At the time of writing there were no bids yet on the truck.

According to the JC fire department, the fire truck, “runs, drives well and has 23,575 miles on it.”

The deets: the truck has a 95-foot aerial platform, a 200-gallon water tank, a Waterous 1500 GPM 2-stage pump, an Onan 6K generator, a Detroit 8V92A 12.1-liter diesel engine and Allison HTB 741 automatic transmission.”

While the truck could surely be useful to anyone with a construction company, tree-care business or landscaping outfit, the truck could also be a godsend for a volunteer fire department.

Let’s also not ignore the fact that anyone could buy it and just have the coolest ride in town.

Let the bidding begin!
