PHOENIX -- This is going to anger a lot of snow-bound fans in Milwaukee, but the temperature was 79 degrees for the first pitch today of the Brewers' exhibition game against San Diego this afternoon at Maryvale Baseball Park.

Dave Bush threw a strike to former Milwaukee minor-leaguer Callix Crabbe and we are underway.

We'll have a bunch of Brewers notes in a little while, but we just had to share those pertinent facts first. Oh, and Kevin Kouzmanoff just hit a solo homer off Bush to put the Padres ahead, 1-0.

Be safe in the snow today. The folks here are using caution with sun block.

Here is something to consider while you're shoveling: one week from today, the Brewers face the Royals at Miller Park.
