Couldn't get to Florida this winter? Well, good news: Florida is coming to us, instead. Or at least the next closest thing: rapper Flo Rida, who will perform a postgame concert at Miller Park after the Milwaukee Brewers take on – you guessed it – the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday, May 25.
Flo Rida (real name: Tramar Dillard, indeed born in Miami Gardens, Florida) burst onto the hip-hop scene in 2008, exploding to the top of the charts with his club hit "Low."
The rapper hasn't left the top of the charts since, dropping popular hits like "Right Round" (aka the song from the end credits of "The Hangover"), "Wild Ones" with Sia, "Whistle," "My House," "G.D.F.R." and "I Don't Like it, I Love It." He's also scored four Grammy nominations in the process, most recently Best Rap/Sung Collaboration in 2013 for "Wild Ones."
The Flo Rida concert is a part of the Brewers' Kickoff to Summer theme night, with fans able to lock in their seats for the show – plus a pair of Brewers-branded sunglasses – by purchasing a Kickoff to Summer ticket package starting Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 10 a.m. A limited number of VIP passes, offering access to the field during the concert, will also be available before single-game tickets go on sale beginning Saturday, Feb. 16.
For more information on tickets for the show – as well as tickets to the games – visit the Brewers' website.
And a reminder: We are almost less than 24 hours from Brewers' pitchers and catchers reporting for Spring Training. I repeat: ALMOST LESS THAN 24 HOURS!
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
