It's the first holiday season in Milwaukee for Fran Hill, a women's fashion boutique at 2615 N. Downer Ave., and to celebrate, it's doing something N.I.C.E. for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee.

Fran Hill is hosting a special shopping pajama party themed evening today, Wednesday, Dec. 5, from 4 to 9 p.m. and plans to donate 10 percent of the proceeds to the Boys & Girls Clubs. It'll be just like you remember pajama jammy-jams to be -- snacks, wine and free makeovers by Impressions Salon of Mequon and a chance to win a $1,000 shopping spree at Fran Hill.

OK, maybe not exactly like how they were when we were 10.

In addition to the benefit shopping night, Fran Hill invites its guests to become members of the National Institute for Chillin' Enthusiasts or N.I.C.E. when they purchase original, limited edition N.I.C.E. Jammie for $42. All profits from the sale of these original design pajamas during the entire month of December will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs.

Julie Lawrence Special to OnMilwaukee.com

OnMilwaukee.com staff writer Julie Lawrence grew up in Wauwatosa and has lived her whole life in the Milwaukee area.

As any “word nerd” can attest, you never know when inspiration will strike, so from a very early age Julie has rarely been seen sans pen and little notebook. At the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee it seemed only natural that she major in journalism. When OnMilwaukee.com offered her an avenue to combine her writing and the city she knows and loves in late 2004, she knew it was meant to be. Around the office, she answers to a plethora of nicknames, including “Lar,” (short for “Larry,” which is short for “Lawrence”) as well as the mysteriously-sourced “Bill Murray.”
