Parking in Downtown Milwaukee can sometimes be a challenge.
Although two-hour parking is free on Saturday and without time limits on Sunday, the parking signs installed by the City of Milwaukee can be a little confusing (as our own Jeff Sherman as pointed out several times). You see people trying to feed meters or even worse – confusedly trying to pay at one of the LUKE pay machines.
I'm one of those people who see this happening and try to help right away – sharing that our city actually is very accommodating on the weekends (and really at all times). However, many a patron unnecessarily feeds the parking meters in fear of parking tickets or worse yet – avoid coming Downtown altogether.
Luckily DNA-MKE is here to help – in partnership with the City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works. They are clarifying the situation with new "FREE" stickers added to parking signs.
Some stickers are already installed with more to come on parking signs throughout the Downtown area. They work, too, as they make it much clearer that there is no charge for on-street parking on Saturday.
Park on, Milwaukee!
Carolynn Buser is one of Milwaukee's loudest and most adamant cheerleaders (don't dare try to disagree). She's the primary voice behind much of OnMilwaukee's social media and content direction, and apologizes in advance if she can be too sarcastic at times.
What else? She's a wine lover, closet trashy novel reader, beauty supplies addict and devourer of cheese (shocker for a Wisconsin born and bred girl, right?). She's also a bit of a foodie, which is a word most of you hate, we know. She works as hard as she plays - and that includes in the gym! So, you've probably seen her at one of the area's newest restaurant openings (and yes, she will share her opinions good or bad) or enjoying a cold one at a local pub.
All in all, Carolynn's a believer in positive thinking and will do her best to smack down your negative ones while writing about her city, her loves, quests and more.
