The Funky Frog, a kids' consignment shop with a green twist, will close on May 31 after being in business for less than a year. Owner Stephanie Bennett says the store, 6241 S. 27th St., never took off due to the downturn in the economy.

For the month of May, most of the Funky Frog's stock will be 40 percent off. The Funky Frog offers gently used, kids' clothing, wooden toys and games, environmentally safe baby and child products and more.

"Bittersweet is the best way to describe how I’m feeling," says Bennett, who plans to be a full-time Milwaukee Public School teacher next fall.
