The first Gallery Night & Day of 2022 takes place Friday, Jan. 21 and Saturday, Jan. 22. Treat yourself to an evening of free gallery admission and, at some spots, snacks and libations. But mostly treat yourself to discovering the incredible talent Milwaukee’s artist community has to offer.

Here's the full list of particpating galleries and five we recommend:

1. MARN Art + Culture Hub

The new gallery, retail, cafe, community and wine-and-coffee lounge space is a work of art in itself and will be open during Gallery Night & Day for all to visit. Work from myriad Milwaukee artists will be on display.

2. Lily Pad West

Exhibit: Into the Mystic


Imagination meets nature ion this show featuring the work of numerous artists dancing the line between realism and abstraction.

3. Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD)

Exhibit: Visions of American Blackness

Four artists share their life experience from their unique perspective and in doing so speak out against 21st Century marginalization and racism.

4. Var / Var West

For the first time since its inception, Var and Var West will combine studios for one massive show featuring the work of 34 established and emerging artists.

Exhibit: China: Then & Now - Jan Serr

Jan Sterr shares 64 photos of China from New World City and Old Town. The exhibit is also a reflection on the passing of time, one of humanity’s biggest mysteries.


Molly Snyder started writing and publishing her work at the age 10, when her community newspaper printed her poem, "The Unicorn.” Since then, she's expanded beyond the subject of mythical creatures and written in many different mediums but, nearest and dearest to her heart, thousands of articles for OnMilwaukee.
