OnMilwaukee has partnered with Sojourner Family Peace Center this holiday season for "Give A Little Peace Of Your Heart." The goal is to get as many items as possible to the organization by the end of the month for women and children who come to the shelter to escape domestic violence.
"Our clients come to us at a scary and uncertain time in their life. In many cases, people arrive with few to no belongings of their own," says Annie Scholz, Communications Manager. "We rely on the kindness of people in the community willing to donate gifts or money to purchase them."
Sojourner is the most comprehensive provider of domestic violence prevention and intervention services in Wisconsin, and offers an array of support to nearly 8,000 clients each year.
"The holidays are a difficult time when home isn’t a safe place. We are so grateful for everyone who helps us do that," says Scholz.
