Nathaniel Davauer applied for a Class B liquor license for a new venture, "Giving Tree Garage," at 902 S. 2nd St. in Walker's Point. The building is currently a small parking structure and greenspace.

According to the license, Davauer hopes to open a "garage" with four vintage tap trucks and outdoor seating. A large tree on the property is the impetus for the name and will be the focal point of the space.

Giving Tree Garage hopes to open every weekend this summer.

"Milwaukee is ready for ideas that push the envelope of creative experiences. Walker's Point is the right place for me to push my creative boundaries," says Davauer.

Davauer owns the Draft & Vessel tap rooms in Shorewood and Wauwatosa and operates an eight-tap 1941 Ford truck outside the Milwaukee Public Market in the Draft Patio. He is the proprietor of Rk'd (arcade) Bar, a mobile bar with 12 tap lines and a Nintendo console inside a 1969 Ford Econoline van.

"I've listened to hundreds of people from all over the country stop at the Draft Patio and say they wish they had something like it in their city," says Davauer.

If approved by the Common Council, Giving Tree Garage will offer a total of four vintage trucks with tap lines.
