Believe it or not, it is possible to work at an ultra-groovy online daily magazine without being overwhelmingly tech savvy.

When I first started at OnMilwaukee.com, my friend and co-worker, Andy Tarnoff, introduced me to the wonders of the Mac world (and later the iPhone) and I won't be heading back any time soon.

I also started to realize the greatness of Google beyond the search engine, using the newsreader, documents, calendar, etc.

About a week ago, I saw a Web post about Google Voice, which is the behemoth's foray into phone service. Numbers were being allocated by invitation only, so I signed up and waited.

Last night, I received my invitation, surfed around a little bit and secured by Google Voice number. (It was not a vanity number, because I couldn't find one worth a darn).

Now that I have access to Google Voice, I have a question:

What do I do with it?

I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that I signed up for this service without a lot of investigation. I just know that I like what Google offers in other areas, so I took the plunge.

I gather that I now can use the single number to ring various existing phones, you can use voicemail and other things. But, I kind of already enjoy those services with other providers.

Can anyone out there let me know how to unlock the wonders of this new world I've entered? Use the Talkback feature to let me know.
