The restaurant space at 7700 W. Layton Ave. that formerly housed Dr. Dawg and Hooter’s will soon reopen as Habanero’s Mexican Kitchen & Margarita House.
The restaurant – known for its award winning guacamole, which is served table-side at its location on Mayfair Road – serves up a wide variety of Mexican favorites including tacos, enchiladas, burritos and chimichangas along with house Casa Noble margaritas.
Owner Modesto Melendez confirmed today by phone that, if all goes as planned, the restaurant will be shooting to open on Feb. 29.
Photos of the new Greenfield space, posted on Facebook, showcase a colorful restaurant with booth and bar seating, as well as a brand new facade.
