For the ninth straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee, presented by the restaurants of Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, dining guides, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as voting for your "Best of Dining 2015."

According to the National Retail Federation, Americans will spend an estimated $2 billion on Halloween candy this month. Which sweets top their lists?

This year, 29,000 voters participated in a poll at Ranker.com, and ranked Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups as their most popular Halloween treat.

Interestingly enough, Halloween’s (supposed) trademark sweet, candy corn, was the 25th most popular candy on the list.

1. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups

2. Twix

3. Kit Kat

4. Snickers

5. Reese’s Peanut Butter Pumpkins

6. Hershey’s Miniatures

7. Starburst

8. Butterfinger

9. Skittles

10.Gummy Bears

Other interesting results

  • Women picked Twix as their No. 1 favorite Halloween candy.
  • Men voted M&M’s and Baby Ruth amongst their Top 5 picks.
  • Millennial voters included Nestle’s Crunch and York Peppermint Patty in their Top 5.
  • Baby Boomer voters ranked M&M’s and Mike & Ike’s in their Top 10.
