This afternoon, the Wisconsin State Fair added three more acts to its main stage lineup, including Phillip Phillips, Matt Nathanson, Newsboys and The Fonz. Wait, what was that last one?
Indeed, The Fonz himself, Henry Winkler, along with Anson Williams and Donny Most, will take the State Fair main stage for "Happy Days: Live," a reunion show featuring music, rare photos, specially chosen personal favorite clips from the classic sitcom, exclusive home videos, a Q&A and a general talk about growing up on the show. The event will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 7:30 p.m., with tickets costing $25 and $35.
Winkler and company won't be the only television stars taking the State Fair main stage, however, as "American Idol" season 11 winner Phillip Phillips will co-headline the stage with fellow singer-songwriter Matt Nathanson on Saturday, Aug. 13 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the joint show will run $29 and $39.
Completing State Fair's trifecta of new main stage additions is Newsboys, the popular Christian rock band featured in the film "God's Not Dead." The band – which just released its new album, "Love Riot," on March 4 – will be joined by opener and fellow Christian performer Francesca Battistelli, who just won a Grammy for her song "Holy Spirit" last month. The show will be Monday, Aug. 8 starting at 7:30 p.m., with tickets costing $39 and $29.
Tickets for all three newly added main stage shows will go on sale Friday, March 18, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Wisconsin State Fair website and the State Fair ticket office, located at 7722 W. Greenfield Ave. All tickets, grandstand and track, for the three shows will be reserved.
The Wisconsin State Fair will run from Thursday, Aug. 4 through Sunday, Aug. 14. Two more headlining acts remain to be announced, so stay tuned to OnMilwaukee.
