Today marks an important milestone for Steve Hawthorne of Hawthorne Coffee Roasters.

Hawthorne, who has been managing Rocket Baby Bakery in Wauwatosa, has decided it's time to devote himself full-time to the work he loves.

"I've really enjoyed my time at Rocket Baby and working with Geoff and Shannon (Trenholme)," he says. "And I'm looking forward to continued work together providing coffee to the Bay View cafe."

But, Hawthorne says that business has reached the point where it requires his full-time attention. With growing accounts across the city, he says it's time he put a keener focus on his coffee, as well as supporting his growing customer base.

Going full time also frees up Hawthorne's time to engage in management of the coffee program and staffing for Holey Moley Doughnuts, which will open in the Third Ward later this month.

You can find Hawthorne Coffee Roasters at the Wauwatosa Farmers Market on Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. to noon, as well as at the Thiensville Farmers Market on Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
