The Milwaukee Bike Polo Club started 2009 out right.

Three man team, Hero Squad, took first at the New Year's Championship Bike Polo Tourney in Madison, Wis. Team members Joe Burge, Jake Newborn and Eric Kremin went undefeated (12-0) to take first in the two-day tournament held the first week of January.

The tournament drew both local and national teams; local Milwaukee and Madison teams as well as teams from Philadelphia and New York City played round-robin style elimination. Hero Squad played Madison, another Milwaukee team and Philadelphia in the initial rounds and went on to beat Philadelphia (5-4) again in the tournament's Championship game.

Only four years in the making, the Milwaukee Bike Polo Club is nationally competitive as they add this first tournament win to a list of compiling credits.

Congrats MKE Bike Polo.
