I’m a proud Democrat. I’m a proud fan of Hillary Clinton. I’m a very proud fan of country music.

You would think that with that trifecta a new country song singing the praises of Hillary Clinton as a Democratic candidate for president in 2016 would be right up my alley.

Just goes to show how much you know.

A super pac called Stand With Hillary 2016 (the website) has released a song called, shock, "Stand With Hillary."

It’s hard to find words to adequately describe this music video. In the first couple of minutes we see cowboy boots kicking along in the dirt, heavy farm machinery, a truck, a car rolling down the road, more heavy machinery, a picture of all three Clintons, a porch with a cowboy sitting on it with his guitar, a family joining hands and praying over dinner, a little girl with sparklers on the 4th of July, cows, the New York skyline, a cowboy who ran out of gas getting picked up by a hot chick on a motorcycle, and ... you get the idea.

And the song. My God, the song. You can see for yourself right here.

To start with it’s the only country song that has ever used the word "hindsight." To add insult to injury there is this line in the chorus: "through it all a loving wife." In front of you we get to see a loving picture of Bill and Hillary in their college days.

In your mind’s eye the image of Monica Lewinsky shows up in living color.

You’ve got to wonder what in the world they were thinking.

This video was produced by Miguel Orozco, who wrote a series of Latin songs for Barack Obama during his first campaign. Apparently moving from a Latin sphere to the sphere of butt-kicking boots proved too much for Orozco.

I’m not sure, but I’d guess the video was really a class project for an eighth grade civics class with the guys in the audio visual department putting it all together.

I love Hillary Clinton. I think we should have a woman president. But if she has any courage at all, clearly a trait we want in our presidents, she’s going to stand up for herself and call this song out for what it is – trash.
