The Hilton Milwaukee City Center has a new chef and 88Nine RadioMilwaukee has a new program director.

Brian Frakes has been named executive chef at the Downtown Milwaukee hotel. Coming from his most recent appointment as the executive chef at the Pfister Hotel and its award-winning Mason Street Grill and Café at The Pfister, Frakes wants to take the Hilton (also owned by the Marcus Corporation) to the next level.

"Our primary focus at the Hilton Milwaukee is to exceed expectations with the quality and presentation of our cuisine. The Hilton Milwaukee City Center has a rich history in our community and we plan to rebuild its reputation as the premier hotel for events. We will do this by offering outstanding menu selections at the best value around," said Frakes in a news release.

Dave Cowan, a 23-year radio veteran with experience at a variety of community-oriented commercial stations, has been named program director of 88Nine Radio Milwaukee, the station announced today.

Cowan has served as general manager, program director and music director at a number of stations since 1986. He also has held various on-air positions, including sportscaster.

RadioMilwaukee Executive Director Mary Louise Mussoline said Cowan, who was chosen after a national search, brings strong industry experience and a community-focused history and sensibility that will benefit RadioMilwaukee listeners.
