Hop Summer Nights will return to The Hop this month. The cool fun takes place on the streetcar during the final three Sundays in August: Aug. 14, Aug. 21 and Aug. 28.

From 4 to 6 p.m. riders will be treated to free popsicles and live jazz while on board The Hop.  Pete’s Pops will provide “hopsicles” and pianist JL Russell and his Smoothwalk Jazz Trio will play the tunes. This year’s jazz performances are made possible through a partnership with the Fresh Coast Jazz Festival.

“Summer may be flying by, but it’s far from over, and we’re inviting the entire community to beat the heat this August by hopping on board and exploring the city via the streetcar,” says Interim Commissioner of Public Works Jerrel Kruschke. “The reception this event received last year was tremendous, and we look forward to once again partnering with some great local organizations to thank our riders with free popsicles and live music.”

To locate the special Hop Summer Nights streetcar, riders are encouraged to download the Transloc real-time app here.

Each Sunday, riders will receive an alert in the app notifying which streetcar features the free popsicles and jazz. Riders can also be on the lookout for Hop Summer Nights decals in the windows of the featured streetcar.
