The coronavirus pandemic has changed our everyday life, but it doesn't need to change who we are. So, in addition to our ongoing coverage of the coronavirus, OnMilwaukee will continue to report on cool, fun, inspiring and strange stories from our city and beyond. Stay safe, stay healthy, stay informed and stay joyful. We're all in this together. #InThisTogetherMKE

Your list of restaurants to support during the coronavirus lockdown just got longer, as several of the Hospitality Democracy restaurants are reopening their doors.

The restaurant group today announced that, after six weeks of shutdown and preparation, they are ready to safely reopen several of their key locations – including Onesto in the Third Ward, the Downtown AJ Bombers location, Smoke Shack in the Third Ward and Blue Bat Kitchen & Tequilaria in the Third Ward – for pick-up and delivery orders beginning Thursday, April 30.

Their "Safer at Home" impacted hours will be as such:

  • AJ Bombers – 11:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m., closed on Mondays
  • Blue Bat – 11:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m., closed on Mondays
  • Onesto – 4 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., closed on Tuesdays
  • Smoke Shack – 11:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m., closed on Tuesdays

Holey Moley, as well as the Mayfair Collection locations for AJ Bombers and Smoke Shack Express, will remain closed for the time being.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
