The third annual Downtown Ice CAPE-ade returns to Red Arrow Park’s “Slice of Ice” rink on Saturday, Feb. 10. The superhero-themed event provides families with free skate rentals and an opportunity to meet some of Milwaukee’s mightiest heroes.
The fun takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to dress up as their favorite hero or grab one of the capes available for giveaway, while supplies last.
“This free, family-friendly event is just one of the many ways to enjoy Downtown during the winter months,” said Erica Green, Director of Public Space Initiatives for Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21.
Guests can skate alongside costumed superheroes as well as everyday heroes from the Milwaukee Fire Department and Milwaukee Police Department. Sporting their alter egos, the DASH Speedskating Team will be on the ice dressed in disguise. Plus, five-time Olympic Gold Medalist Bonnie Blair and four-time Olympian Dave Cruikshank will also make appearances.
“We’re so excited to welcome kids and families back to the rink and hope they create memories to cherish for years to come," says Green.
