NBC is quoting Nielsen Media Research numbers to trumpet the fact that its Olympics coverage during the 8 p.m. hour pulled in 30.1 million viewers, while Fox's "American Idol" had only 18.4 million.
That breaks a six-year unbeaten streak for "Idol."
Milwaukee remains the top TV market for Olympic coverage over the six-day run:

But NBC's coverage on Channel 4 dipped to a second-place tie with Minneapolis on Wednesday night:

Tim Cuprisin is the media columnist for OnMilwaukee.com.
